From 1987 to 2017 I served as the minister of Iden Green Congregational Church.  My predecessor was in post for 21 years.  When I began I considered that to be an unsurpassable length of time.  Actually the decades have raced by, so very much has happened.  The influence of the little fellowship in a tiny Kentish hamlet has probably been quite disproportionate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until September 2015 I was also Chaplain at William Parker School – latterly, ARK William Parker Academy.  I had worked for the school since 1985.  I had seen headteachers come and go, and good days and bad for the college.  For years I taught maths as well as having the pastoral role.  In 2009 we became a Church of England school and it has been a great joy and privilege to labour for the gospel in the context of a diocesan school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1995 my wife and I opened a nursery school.  It continues and, as ‘director’, I lead a team of dedicated early years pedagogues offering Christian and Froebelian care and education.  What an honour to be the friend of a couple of dozen little people for whom all of life lies ahead of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another great privilege is to edit Early Days<\/em>, the thrice yearly magazine of \u2018Love Early Years\u2019 (formerly Ci2eye – Christian Initiatives in Early Years Education).  My mission is to foster Christian thinking and practice in early education and it is a joy to work alongside those of like mind in the UK as well as in other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in \u2018retirement\u2019 I enjoy ministering the grace of God to church congregations on Sundays and to little ones during the week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
